Two thousand years after the Eleusinian Mysteries, the internationally renowned Italian director Romeo Castellucci, introduced a contemporary ritual. ΜΑ – a one-word title interpreted in multiple languages: the first clear word of an infant calling its mother; the root of the word ‘‘matrice,’’ i.e. the womb which opens itself to earth in order to generate, and the mould that gives form to lifeless matter; moreover, in both Italian and Greek, the word MA is used as an exclamation of objection, opposition, but also as a linguistic marker of an oath, an appeal to the divine. The day after the premiere of the site-specific performance, an international press event was held with director Romeo Castellucci, composer Demetrio Castellucci and choreographer Gloria Dorliguzzo, along with the General Artistic Director of 2023 Eleusis Michael Marmarinos. The performance Mystery 11 Ma was filmed by the Greek director and cinematographer Nikos Nikolopoulos. The film had its world premiere, in the presence of its creator, at the Cine Eleusis on Friday, March 29. Δύο χιλιάδες χρόνια μετά τα Ελευσίνια Μυστήρια, ο διεθνούς φήμης Ιταλός σκηνοθέτης Romeo Castellucci, εισήγαγε μία σύγχρονη τελετουργία. MA. Ένας μονολεκτικός τίτλος που ερμηνεύεται πολυγλωσσικά: στην πρώτη λέξη ενός βρέφους που καλεί τη μητέρα του, στη ρίζα του όρου «μήτρα» (matrice) που ανοίγεται στη γη για να δημιουργήσει, αλλά και στο εκμαγείο που θα δώσει μορφή στην ύλη, όταν πια έρθει το τέλος της. Ένα επιφώνημα αντίρρησης, αντίθεσης αλλά και ένα ορκωτικό μόριο που συστήνει επίκληση στα θεία. Την επομένη της πρεμιέρας, πραγματοποιήθηκε διεθνής συνέντευξη τύπου με τον σκηνοθέτη Romeo Castellucci, τον συνθέτη Demetrio Castellucci και τη χορογράφο Gloria Dorliguzzo, μαζί με τον Γενικό Καλλιτεχνικό Διευθυντή του 2023 Eleusis Μιχαήλ Μαρμαρινό. Το Μυστήριο 11 Μa κινηματογραφήθηκε από τον Έλληνα σκηνοθέτη και κινηματογραφιστή Νίκο Νικολόπουλο. Η ταινία έκανε την παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα της, παρουσία του δημιουργού, στο Cine Eleusis την Παρασκευή 29 Μαρτίου.
