Mystery 151 A Rave Down Below explored the political dynamics of the body in motion from a simultaneously geological and cultural underground point. Alchemical wanderings from the historical past towards mythology and a post-industrial present culminated in a delirious dance. Inebriation, intoxication, revulsion, euphoria, release, vent, and ascent; a circular path from the body to the ground and back again. The exhibition’s narrative unfolded through the myths and history of the city of Elefsina and its Mysteries, with dance serving as a means of climax, a sacred ritual and a method for exploring concepts of death and loss. Through installations, painting, sculpture, sound, and performance, the exhibition seeked to redefine the boundaries of dance, reflecting on the (collective) body and its absence, memory and the necessity of movement. It contemplated utopian declarations of dance subcultures, their glorification, thwarting, and commercial exploitation, hovering between desire, disappointment and expectation. Mystery 151 A Rave Down Below coincided with the celebration of “Mesosporitissa” connecting different historical periods of Elefsina while marking the transition into winter. The opening of the exhibition featured a series of performances by Odete & Nkisi and an all-night party with Fofi Tsesmeli, Odete, Amateurboyz, Ayshel & GRΞTA. On 13 January 2024 This is a Party - Performance by Georgia Sagri was presented.Το Μυστήριο 151 A Rave Down Below ήταν μία ομαδική έκθεση, που παρουσιάστηκε στο Παλαιό Ελαιουργείο Ελευσίνας από τις 18 Νοεμβριου 2023 έως τις 11 Φεβρουαρίου 2024, με τη συμμετοχή καταξιωμένων καλλιτεχνών από την Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό και μία σειρά από νέες παραγωγές έργων, σε επιμέλεια του Πάνου Γιαννικόπουλου. Το Μυστήριο 151 A Rave Down Below εξερεύνησε την πολιτική δυναμική του σώματος εν κινήσει από το ταυτόχρονα γεωλογικό και πολιτισμικό υπέδαφος. Αλχημικές περιπλανήσεις στο ιστορικό παρελθόν, στο μεταβιομηχανικό παρόν και στη μυθολογία κατέληγαν σε έναν εξαγριωμένο χορό. Μέθη, δηλητηρίαση, αποστροφή, ευφορία, αποδέσμευση, εκτόνωση και άνοδος: μια κυκλική πορεία από το σώμα προς το έδαφος και αντίστροφα. Η αφήγηση της έκθεσης ξετυλίχθηκε μέσα από τους μύθους και την ιστορία της πόλης της Ελευσίνας και των Μυστηρίων με το χορό ως μέσο κορύφωσης, ιεροτελεστία και μέθοδο προσέγγισης των εννοιών του θανάτου και της απώλειας. Η έκθεση μέσω της ζωγραφικής, της γλυπτικής, ήχων, εγκαταστάσεων και performances επιχείρησε να επαναδιαπραγματευτεί τα όρια του χορού, να σκεφτεί το (συλλογικό) σώμα και την απουσία του, την ανάμνησή του και την αναγκαιότητα της κίνησης. Στοχάστηκε πάνω στις ουτοπικές διακηρύξεις χορευτικών υποκουλτούρων, την αποθέωση, τη ματαίωση και την εμπορική εκμετάλλευσή τους που αιωρείται μεταξύ επιθυμίας, απογοήτευσης και προσδοκίας. Το Μυστήριο 151 A Rave Down Below συνέπεσε χρονικά με τον εορτασμό της Μεσοσπορίτισσας που σηματοδοτεί το πέρασμα στο χειμώνα, συνδέοντας διαφορετικές χρονικά περιόδους της Ελευσίνας. Τα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης συνοδεύτηκαν από μία σειρά performances των Odete & Nkisi κι ένα ολονύχτιο rave party με τους Fofi Tsesmeli, Odete, Amateurboyz, Ayshel & GRΞTA.
