Mystery 182 Sunday's Advent
project
Description
2023 Eleusis presented, on Sunday, May 28th, at OASIS (former campsite), Mystery 182 Sunday’s ADVENT, an all-day meeting with morning coffee, children’s show, games, discussions, workshops, collective cooking and concerts on the occasion of the reflection of meaning of the Sunday day-off and the valuable and collective sharing of free time.
A call for all ages. A Sunday excursion starting with the children’s show by Stefanos Papatrechas and Nadias Dalkyriadou, “Ilias, the first dancing cat in cat history”, a tender story about diversity, inclusion, courage and acceptance, for young and old.
In the Eleusis of the myth that experiences the changes of the seasons, the universal place where human traces talk eternally with the chimneys of factories, a Sunday cafe is set up on the day off, so that people can talk about what they are, when they are not working.
The social researcher on gender issues, Anna Vougiouka, the associate professor of Political Science at Panteion University Serafeim Seferiadis, the associate professor at the NTUA School of Architecture and Engineering Penny Koutrolikou and the radio producer and lyricist Odysseas Ioannou gave the mark to unravel the thread of common experience inviting us to chat.
Throughout the day, Kalliopi Koutroumpi, Evi Kasketi and Eirini Gozadinou invited us to imagine “how far can we travel on a Sunday?” designing games for all ages with participants making their own Memory Game with favorite leisure memories, which they also took as a souvenir.
A little further on, the PIY Seminars team of Antonis Daktylides took us into the magical world of screen printing, reminding us to put in our bag another white t-shirt or any other fabric of light color, to print on this unforgettable Sunday.
At the same time, the smells of the social kitchen of Konstantinos Polychronopoulos, “The Other Human”, invited us to a collective cooking with free food for everyone.
The day ended with three of the most important artists of the younger generation of Greek music, Maria Papageorgiou, Yiannis Papageorgiou and Yiannis Dionysiou, who highlight in their own way Sunday day-off as the most important reservoirs for folk song, setting the pace for us all to sing along. Earlier, the Antimamalo Band brought us together with those songs that carry the historical burden of urban folk (rebetiko) and traditional music, the ones that were the fuel for all the Sunday feasts.
