| dc.description | Mystery 3 Elefsina mon amour is an art exhibition, which lasted from July 7th, 2023 until October 15th, 2023. The exhibition was developed in the three warehouses and the outdoor area of the Old Olive Factory of Elefsina, as well as in the space of the X-Bowling Art Center. A large number of Greek and foreign artists participated, while the artistic direction and curator was Katerina Gregos, artistic director of the National Museum of Contemporary Art. Ιnspired by the book Storming the Gates of Paradise: Landscapes for Politics (2008) written by the influential writer, historian, environmentalist, and activist Rebecca Solnit which analyses politics through place, the exhibition posits a socio-political reading of Elefsina and the Thriassian plain and constitutes a study on and testimony to modern and contemporary Elefsina. In addition, the exhibition also takes into account the historical past, which has been instrumental in defining the current identity of the city. It will thus suture memory and experience, space and time, past and present, while simultaneously proposing a psychogeographical analysis of space and place. Twisting the title of Alain Resnais’ seminal 1959 film Hiroshima Mon Amour, the exhibition looks beyond the suggested legacy of devastation – brought on in the case of Elefsina not by war but by heavy industry – and into manifestations of resilience, solidarity, hope, and commonality. The questions raised in Resnais’ film are still fundamental and contested; must one forget the past in order to move into the future? Or must we reckon with the past in order to be able to deal with this future? Elefsina, with its layers of history and its future industrial archaeology, seems a perfect place in which to engage these questions. | en |
| dc.description | Το Μυστήριο 3 Ελευσίνα mon amour πρόκειται για μία εικαστιική έκθεση, η οποία διήρκησε από τις 7 Ιουλίου του 2023 μέχρι και τις 15 Οκτωβρίου του 2023. Η έκθεση αναπτύχθηκε στις τρεις αποθήκες και στον προαύλιο χώρο του Παλαιού ελαιουργείου Ελευσίνας, όπως επίσης και στον χώρο του X-Bowling Art Center. Συμμετείχε μία πλειάδα καλλιτεχνών ελλήνων και ξένων, ενώ την καλλιτεχνική διεύθυνση και επιμέλεια είχε η Κατερίνα Γρέγου, καλλιτεχνική διευθύντρια του Εθνικού Μουσείου Σύγχρονης Τέχνης. Η έκθεση προτείνει μια κοινωνικοπολιτική ανάγνωση της Ελευσίνας και της ευρύτερης περιοχής του Θριάσιου πεδίου, εμπνευσμένη από το βιβλίο Storming the Gates of Paradise: Landscapes for Politics (2008) της συγγραφέα, ιστορικού, περιβαλλοντολόγου και ακτιβίστριας Rebecca Solnit, η οποία προσεγγίζει την πολιτική μέσω της κοινωνικής ανάλυσης του τόπου και του τοπίου. Η έκθεση λαμβάνει επίσης υπόψη της το ιστορικό παρελθόν, το οποίο έχει συμβάλει καθοριστικά στη σημερινή ταυτότητα της πόλης. Συρράπτει μνήμη και εμπειρία, χώρο και χρόνο, παρελθόν και παρόν και προτείνει επιπλέον μια ψυχογεωγραφική ανάλυση της πόλης. Παραλλάσσοντας τον τίτλο της εμβληματικής ταινίας Hiroshima Mon Amour (Χιροσίμα αγάπη μου, 1959) του Alain Resnais, η έκθεση κοιτάζει προς αλλά και πέρα από την προφανή κληρονομιά μιας καταστροφής –στην περίπτωση της Ελευσίνας, όχι από τον πόλεμο όπως στην ταινία του Resnais, αλλά από τη βαριά βιομηχανία– και φέρνει επίσης στο προσκήνιο εκδηλώσεις ανθεκτικότητας, αλληλεγγύης, ελπίδας, αναγέννησης και συγκρότησης κοινοτήτων.Τα ερωτήματα που θέτει η ταινία του Resnais είναι πάντα θεμελιώδη και υπό διαρκή διαπραγμάτευση: πρέπει να ξεχάσουμε το παρελθόν για να προχωρήσουμε στο μέλλον; Ή μήπως πρέπει να αναμετρηθούμε με το παρελθόν για να μπορέσουμε να αντιμετωπίσουμε το μέλλον; Η Ελευσίνα, με τα στρώματα της ιστορίας της και τη μελλοντική βιομηχανική αρχαιολογία της, μοιάζει το ιδανικό μέρος για να θέσει κανείς αυτά τα ερωτήματα. | el |
