| dc.description | The title of the work, “Blackout in Prinkipo Island ” promises us a magical journey to the Principalities of Constantinople in the 1930s. There, in the mansion of the Iasonidis family, a sudden, strong storm disturbs, in the worst way, the tranquility of the house. The resulting blackout confronts Police Inspector Mustafa Karadeniz, the family, as well as invited and “uninvited” visitors, with an intractable mystery. Will the Inspector, along with his assistant, Fariye Nazli, be able to solve it before there are more… murders? Through the entertaining scenes of the show, the special aspects of life in cosmopolitan Istanbul come to life. For the characters in the work, information is drawn from the types, characters and habits of the time. The refined occupations of the host and the European sophistication of the ladies, in contrast to the linguistic idioms of the maids and the “oriental” Inspector of Police, compose a colorful mosaic, which highlights the cultural pluralism of a thriving society in the City, but also of the wider community. of the East in general. | dc.description | Ο τίτλος του έργου, «Συσκότιση στην Πρίγκηπο» μας υπόσχεται ένα μαγευτικό ταξίδι στα Πριγκηπονήσια της Κωνσταντινούπολης τη δεκαετία του 1930. Εκεί, στο αρχοντικό της οικογένειας Ιασωνίδη, μια ξαφνική, δυνατή καταιγίδα αναστατώνει, με τον χειρότερο τρόπο, την ηρεμία του σπιτιού. Η στιγμιαία συσκότιση που προκλήθηκε, φέρνει αντιμέτωπο τον Επιθεωρητή της Αστυνομίας Μουσταφά Καραντενίζ, την οικογένεια, καθώς και τους προσκεκλημένους και «απρόσκλητους» επισκέπτες, με ένα δυσεπίλυτο μυστήριο. Θα καταφέρει ο Επιθεωρητής, μαζί με τη βοηθό του, Φαριγιέ Ναζλή, να το εξιχνιάσουν πριν γίνουν κι άλλοι… φόνοι; Μέσα από τις διασκεδαστικές σκηνές της παράστασης, ζωντανεύουν οι ιδιαίτερες πτυχές της ζωής στην κοσμοπολίτικη Κωνσταντινούπολη. Για τα πρόσωπα του έργου αντλούνται στοιχεία από τους τύπους, τους χαρακτήρες και τις συνήθειες της εποχής. Οι εκλεπτυσμένες ενασχολήσεις του οικοδεσπότη και η ευρωπαϊκή φινέτσα των κυριών, σε αντιδιαστολή με τα γλωσσικά ιδιώματα των υπηρετριών και του «ανατολίτη» Επιθεωρητή της Αστυνομίας, συνθέτουν ένα πολύχρωμο μωσαϊκό, που αναδεικνύει τον πολιτισμικό πλουραλισμό μιας ακμάζουσας κοινωνίας της Πόλης, αλλά και της ευρύτερης καθ’ ημάς Ανατολής εν γένει. Έτσι, αναδεικνύεται μια λιγότερο προβεβλημένη πτυχή της Μικρασίας, που συνήθως λείπει από την συνήθη θεματολογία του θεατρικού ρεπερτορίου.
