Mystery 32 Open Eleusis - One documentary, many histories was a project that aimed to write a history of Eleusis, focusing on its people and creating the first Eleusis Oral History Group. It took place in June 2023 at the Elefsina Old Railway Station, while its results were presented in April 2024 at the Elefsina Old Town Hall. In the context of the Mystery 32 Open Eleusis – One documentary, many histories, on June 1, 2023, the first oral history introduction meeting entitled “Eleusis tells its memories” was organized at the Old Railway Station of Eleusis, with speaker the historian Tasoula Vervenioti. Two more two-day seminars followed, June 10-11 and 17-18, 2023 at the Elefsina Old Town Hall with the aim of creating an oral history group of the city. The participants, under the guidance of the historian Tasoula Vervenioti and with the technical support of the cinematographer Michalis Kastanidis, were introduced to oral history and were taught interview techniques with the aim of creating an audio-visual archive of oral testimonies of the city’s residents. The team had at its disposal the necessary technical means for the audio-visual recording of the interviews. The seminar was open to the public, while it was also addressed to the educational community. The project was implemented in collaboration with the Research Center for the Humanities (RHC) within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan Greece 2.0 with funding from the European Union - NextGenerationEU.
