Description
Mystery 93 Xilíki was a modular project comprised of separate actions linked by a creative/artistic reflection on Time and its negation, on Seizure and Absence.
The Mystery 93 Xilíki was held on Tuesday 9th of May, 2023, when the poet and translator Giorgos-Ikaros Babasakis became Amphitryon and invited important poets, writers and visual artists at the Old Railway Station to discuss the meaning of art today.
In a place like Elefsis, where the past and the present meet, the mystical and the post-industrial, the participants discussed the interactions between the arts, philosophy, sociology, the so-called archeology of knowledge and the current priorities of art and reflection, especially in a rapidly changing world that requires a dizzying kaleidoscope to see and analyse.
Afterwards, Philippos Tsitsopoulos & George-Ikaros Babasakis staged a performance based on passages from the Bible, Aristotle and Heraclitus, seeking to demonstrate how some texts maintain an incendiary topicality. In addition, there were also extraordinary guests, while people from the public were also invited to express opinions. The symposium was interspersed with classical music interludes.
White wine and loaves of bread were served to the public as a treat, recalling the symposia of antiquity.
