| dc.description | Η Περσεφόνη επανακαθορίζει τη μοίρα της (Persephone Reconsiders Her Fate), μία τοποειδική περφόρμανς, παρουσιάστηκε από το PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER (PWDT) σε παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα στις 7 και 8 Ιουλίου 2023 στο Νεκροταφείο Πλοίων-Βλύχα, ως μέρος του Μυστηρίου 89 Elefsina By Night. Η Sara Pearson και ο Patrik Widrig, καλλιτεχνικοί συνδιευθυντές του θρυλικού PWDT, γνωστοί για το «προκλητικά ανατρεπτικό, ελκυστικό, ειρωνικό και βαθιά συγκινητικό» έργο τους αλλά και τις site specific παραστάσεις χορού σε όλο τον κόσμο, χορογράφησαν τους 11 χορευτές του PWDT και φοιτητές του University of Maryland, βασισμένοι στην κεντρική ιδέα της Ελευθερίας Ντεκώ και υπό την σκηνοθετική της επιμέλεια. Η χορευτική παράσταση, μερος του Μυστηρίου 89 ολοκληρώθηκε με ένα πεντάλεπτο light show με τιτλο "'Ελευσις" που επιμελήθηκε -μαζί με τους ιδιαίτερους φωτισμούς της παράστασης- η Ελευθερία Ντεκώ. Η Κόρη-Περσεφόνη μάς ξανασυστήνεται για να ξετυλίξει όλες τις όψεις της προσωπικοτητας της, πριν καταδυθεί στο βασίλειο των νεκρών πλοίων, πριν ταξιδέψει στις άμορφες θάλασσες του ασυνειδήτου και αναγεννηθεί, πριν επανέλθει στη μητέρα Γη, χαρίζοντάς μας τη σοφία της, την εσωτερική γνώση που φέρνει αρμονία, μέσα από τον αέναο κύκλο κατάδυσης και επανέλευσης. Κατά την πρώτη του επίσκεψη στην Ελευσίνα στις 22 Δεκεμβρίου 2022, οι χορογράφοι παρέδωσαν ένα τετράωρο masterclass για ενήλικες και εφήβους από την πόλη της Ελευσίνας και την περιοχή του Θριασιου πεδίου με ενδιαφέρον στον σύγχρονο χορό. Τον Νοέμβριο του 2023, το έργο Η Περσεφόνη επανακαθορίζει τη μοίρα της (Persephone Reconsiders Her Fate) έλαβε το διεθνές βραβείο Best 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 2022 των LIT Awards. Η συμμετοχή του PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER στην Ελευσινα Πολιστιστική Πρωτευουσα, υποστηρίχτηκε εν μέρει από το Mid Atlantic Arts μέσω του USArtists International, ενός προγράμματος σε συνεργασία με το National Endowment for the Arts, το ίδρυμα Andrew W. Mellon Foundation και το πρόγραμμα Trust for Mutual Understanding. | dc.description | Persephone Reconsiders Her Fate, a site specific performance, was presented by PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER (PWDT) in a world premiere on July 7 and 8, 2023 at the Ship Graveyard-VLYCHA, as part of Mystery 89 Elefsina By Night. Sara Pearson and Patrik Widrig, artistic co-directors of the legendary PWDT , known for their "provocatively subversive, engaging, ironic and deeply moving" work and site-specific dance performances around the world, choreographed 11 dancers of the PWDT and students of the University of Maryland, based on the idea and artistic direction of Eleftheria Deko. The dance performance was accompanied by a five-minute light show entitled "Eleusis" designed by Eleftheria Deko, as well as the special lighting of the performance. The Daughter-Persephone is reintroduced to us to unravel all the facets of her personality before she dives into the realm of dead ships, before she travels to the amorphous seas of the unconscious and is reborn, before she returns to Mother Earth, giving us her wisdom, the inner knowledge that brings harmony, through the ethereal cycle of diving and reentry. During their first visit to Elefsina on the 22nd December 2022, the choreographers gave a four-hour masterclass for adults and teenagers from the city of Elefsina and the area of the Thriassio field with an interest in contemporary dance. In November 2023, Persephone Reconsiders Her Fate received the international Best 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 2022 award at the LIT Awards. PEARSONWIDRIG DANCETHEATER's participation in the Eleuthera Civic Capital was supported in part by Mid Atlantic Arts through USArtists International, a program in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Trust for Mutual Understanding.
