Description
Mystery 116 Les amants du ciel was a project presented in the frame of SYNOIKISMOI A FESTIVAL in June 2023, that used two key concepts – vertical dance and contemporary circus – which, taken together, formed the work’s core.
Vertical dance allows the discovery of locations that are not usually used in shows and is a way of focussing on architectural history and other associated themes. Contemporary circus, as circus in general, ensures a connection is forged with all kinds of audiences – of every culture, language, and social class – to evoke and embody the fact that culture is free and for everyone.
These two terms gave structure to the performance: a site-specific show like an old-school yet contemporary circus without a tent, taking a building as its stage instead – a place where anything and everything can happen.
