Mystery 142 Oh So Now Eleusis Is Growing Wheat! is a sound installation, of 2023 Eleusis European Capital of Culture, about the Arvanites of Elefsina and the wider region, a unique project about the history of language and minorities and the demolition of stereotypes, presented in the framework of the Synoikismoi A festival, from 10 - 28 June 2023.The subjects of this audio installation are the Arvanites of Elefsina and their relations with other Arvanites, such as those from Corinth and Mandra. The work takes the idiomatic expression “Elefsina grew grain too” as its point of departure and highlights the relationship with language in the context of contemporary Elefsina.
