Mystery 93 Xilíki-Post Scriptum
project
Description
Mystery 93 Xilíki was a modular project comprised of separate actions linked by a creative/artistic reflection on Time and its negation, on Seizure and Absence.
The Mystery 93 Xilíki-Post Scriptum was a dramatised staged reading on seizure and absence as an event and an experience. Three actors, Ioanna Pappa, Alkis Panagiotidis and Andreas Mandas, recited the original text written by A. Mandas, specifically for this performance in a symbolic language inspired by the Archetypes as well as symbols, ancient and modern, a reflection on such universal and timeless themes as the pain of loss, alienation, loneliness, the redemption of dreaming. It was as if they were conducting a séance in the present, their narration sending the thread of history at once towards the past and the future. The legend of the British scene, bassist, composer and producer, Jah Wobble together with Tian, the traditional Chinese music duo, created by his sons, John & Charlie Wardle were facing the stage and musically accompanying the narration. While the spectators stood and watched in the space created between the two groups of artists, the ancient children’s game of XILÍKI that gave its name to the performance was played discreetly, in the background. This was the first time in Greece that such an important artist of the international alternative music scene as Jah Wobble participated in a theatrical performance and played original music, live.
