Description
Mystery 106 Chamomile - Transit was a a concert in motion on the upper deck of an open-top sightseeing bus, that for five days drived through West Athens following the route of the Eleusinian Mysteries procession.
The action unfolded along the Sacred Way, from the Ancient Cemetery of Kerameikos to the Sanctuary of Demeter in Elefsina with unexpected events along the way and Alexia Sarantopoulou acting as a guide to the 35 passengers - spectators.
From the Dromokaiteio to Dafni, from the Diomedes Botanical Gardens to the port town of Skaramagas, from Kifissos to Lake Koumoundourou, from the rock group Diafana Krina to Zampetas and from the song “O Babis o Flou” to Gaddafi, between Stereo Nova and Koutsaftis’ Elefsina, between dawn and dusk, religious tourism and worship procession, the tourist bus hosted an enriched version of the single «Chamomile», released by the Athenian shoegaze group in 2020.
On the way back from Elefsina, the themes of the songs were again entangled with the passage areas through musical and acoustic references, in the form of a live radio broadcast.
In the framework of IN SITU REALITIES - Eleusis Documentary Festival, the film Mystery 106 Chamomile - Transit, which documents this unique musical journey, was presented.
