Μystery 128 Crows
project
Description
Mystery 128 Crows was a special performance of physical theatre and live music by Holektiv, the famous ensemble from the Czech Republic, that was presented at the Leonidas Kanelopoulos Cultural Center on July 2023.
In Greek mythology, crows were a symbol of the goddess Athena and the god Apollo. According to the English poet, novelist and translator Robert Graves, Athena is the only Triple Goddess representing a virgin, a woman and an old woman. The relationship between crows and humans has always been unique.
Mystery 128 Crows was a project about those special bearers of our dreams and secrets. These birds live alongside us humans in the same way they live in their own habitats, far away from people. Given their colour, hunched posture and fondness for carcasses, they came to be seen as symbols of death. Crows, however, also symbolise birth and, in particular, the perpetual female cycle of life.
Mystery 128 Crows was a performance for women and for anyone who feels like a woman.
